Program Descriptions:
This program provides a firm foundation in basic database administration. Students will gain a thorough conceptual understanding of the key components of the SQL or Oracle database architecture and how architectural structures interact with one another.
Job Skills:
Install SQL server, recover and backup data
Monitor, tune and administer security of an SQL server
Produce a conceptual database using Entity Relationship Modeling and Normalization
Proficiency in Object Data Model in UML
Develop and implement backup, recovery, checkpoint/restart methodology, and procedures to reduce system down time
Create GUI front end to a back end database
Knowledgeable in the system development life cycle, project management methodology, and database design
Skilled in CRM, ERP, e-commerce, Financial Analysis, and Sales Analysis
Understand connectivity across a wide variety of platforms and the internet.
Plan and execute disaster recovery procedure.
Participate in system and data analysis with application development team to ensure consistent, efficient, and easy-to-maintain databases.
Provide database support to test new application software releases through planning, coordinating, and customization.
